My name is Alex Cassidy (Holmes) and I was raised in Brockville, where my family is well-known due to its size. Upon turning 20, I relocated to Ottawa to pursue a degree in Communications and Media Studies at Carleton University. While I did earn my BA in the field, I found myself disillusioned by the idea of contributing to the manipulation of individuals by tech giants like Facebook and Instagram, now known as Meta, who aim to foster addiction to smartphones and social media. Consequently, I transitioned to a role at a glass company specializing in selling glass showers and mirrors.
My interest in bathroom design was piqued during this time, as I had the opportunity to witness the creativity of others in designing their bathrooms and contribute to shower designs. With the onset of the Covid pandemic, my husband and I decided to return to Brockville due to the challenging commute to Ottawa. Subsequently, I embarked on a design position at a local company, but feeling inadequately knowledgeable about interior design, I opted to take a step back and pursue a diploma in Interior Design.
The concept of the home as an extension of one's identity deeply resonated with me and fueled my passion for interior design. Upon acquiring my first house, I indulged my love for color and art by painting accent walls and murals throughout the space. Each day in this profession brings new challenges, diverse styles, and unique motivations for home transformations, ultimately allowing me to connect with individuals on a deeper level.
Having witnessed the stress induced by home renovations, I aspire to alleviate the mental clutter and facilitate clear decision-making for my clients. My approach to interior design transcends fleeting trends and seasonal fads, focusing instead on aligning the design with the individual's essence. Your home should be a reflection of your personality, a sanctuary where you find solace and joy. I am committed to guiding you through this journey.
Similar to many who ventured out of this small town to urban centers only to realize the allure of family ties and natural beauty, I have returned to Brockville. This town exudes charm, and my mission is to assist you in transforming your living space into a personal haven where you can unwind and express your true self. I aim to help you create a space that speaks volumes about you without uttering a word.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and seeking guidance for your next project, regardless of its scope, feel free to schedule a consultation. I am eager to assist you, whether it's answering queries about my services or addressing any design-related concerns via email or text at your convenience.
